I am pretty sure it's not a bug. But, it's "stun" skill.

did you used provoke on mummy?and block its path?if it like than it is possible a bugs cz I oftenly used it at ninjana but now not again. This method called as cheating by exploiting the bugs weakness of the monster.
All change is not growth, as all movement is not forward.
